Black Tourmaline
Deep black with fine vertical striations and a vitreous sheen. Black Tourmaline is associated with Brazil, Pakistan, Madagascar, Namibia, and United States, and its natural character gives it a bold, earthy, and quietly shielding presence. Traditionally linked with protection, grounding, strength, and balance, it feels more like a small object with a story than a simple color stone.
Black tourmaline can become electrically charged when heated or compressed, a property called pyroelectricity and piezoelectricity.
